Concert Percussion Ensemble is one of the most recent addtions to the Poway Music Program. In 2007 it replaced Poway's "Winterline" show, which was made up of a marching drumline and pit. While this new format does away with the marching, it allows the group to focus much more on musical detail and growth. Instrumentation consists of keyboard instruments (marimba, vibraphone, etc.), drums (drum set, timpani, etc.), and accessories. In addition, this ensemble is much less costly and time-demanding than Winterline, giving more students an opportunity to participate. Plus, the Percussion Ensemble has been very sucessful in competition, consistently placing in the top of their class.
